Google for education

Today we are talking about very useful Google services for education, which the company launched for the simplification of work in educational institutions.

Google Apps for Education is a familiar set of Google services, but available in the .edu domain. The same Gmail email service, the same Drive cloud storage, and the same services for creating tables, documents, presentations, and websites (Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Sites).

Google Drive is a file storage and synchronization service developed by Google. Launched on April 24, 2012, Google Drive allows users to store files on their servers, synchronize files across devices, and share files. In addition to a website, Google Drive offers apps with offline capabilities for Windows and macOS computers, and Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. Google Drive encompasses Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides, which are a part of the Google Docs office suite that permits collaborative editing of documents, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings, forms, and more. Files created and edited through the Google Docs suite are saved in Google Drive.

Google Forms is a survey administration software that is included in the Google Docs Editors software suite along with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides. It allows collecting information from users through surveys. The collected information can be automatically entered into a spreadsheet.

Google Slides is a presentation program included as part of a free, web-based Google Docs office suite offered by Google since 2006 within its Google Drive service. The service also includes Google Docs and Google Sheets, a word processor and spreadsheet respectively.

Google Docs is a word processor included as part of a free, web-based Google Docs suite offered by Google within its Google Drive service. Google Docs is available as a web application; mobile app for Android, iOS, Windows, BlackBerry; and as a desktop application on Google's Chrome OS.

Gmail is a free email service developed by Google. Users can access Gmail on the web and using third-party programs that synchronize email content through POP or IMAP protocols. Gmail started as a limited beta release on April 1, 2004 and ended its testing phase on July 7, 2009. By 2018, Gmail had 1.5 billion active users worldwide.

Google Hangouts is a cross-platform messaging app developed by Google. Originally a feature of Google+, Hangouts became a stand-alone product in 2013, when Google also began integrating features from Google+ Messenger and Google Talk into Hangouts.

Google Sites is a structured wiki- and Web page-creation tool offered by Google. The declared goal of Google Sites is for anyone to be able to create simple web sites that support collaboration between different editors.

Google Calendar is a time-management and scheduling calendar service developed by Google. It became available in beta release April 13, 2006, and in general release in July 2009, on the web and as mobile apps for the Android and iOS platforms.

Google Classroom is a free web service developed by Google for schools that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments. The primary purpose of Google Classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students. It is estimated between 40 to 100 million users use Google Classroom.

To sum up, using these applications should not be difficult for any person, a teacher or a student, and it greatly simplifies and makes the learning process more modern.

My personal opinion about groupmates' blogs

Greetings! Today I want to share with you my top-5 students' blogs, which were created during our course this semester. So, here we go! 1.  SET:SINGING ENGLISH TOGETHER This is one of the most beautiful blogs created by Varya Gorbacheva. A pleasant color-scheme, stylish interface - all this the girl tried to do, and it turned out very cool. 2.  Phonetics - Take it easy! A blog created by my groupmate Maria Slesareva looks pretty nice. It has a thematic interface (background), a nice palette of colors and nothing trashy in the text - you should visit this site. 3.  I WANT TO SPEAK It is very positive-oriented and friendly blog. In each post the author asks just one question, which makes you smile, because we see that a person isn't indifferent to the users who visit his site. "How are you?" 4.  LaLaLanguage Nice interface, nothing superfluous, everything is very carefully and efficiently done. 5.  SpeakEverywhere A blog created by Polina Samoilovich has a thematic head

Bookmarks

Frankly speaking, I've never being in need of usage third-party services to save bookmarks. Every time I found a useful resource, I added it to my browser bookmarks (in my case, it's Google Chrome), but then I didn't need this site, or I visited it, but rarely. After reviewing the list of suggested services for saving bookmarks online, I haven't chose anything: everything is too complicated and I need to sign up there. For me the most comfortable and free resource is Google Bookmarks .  Google Bookmarks   is a free   online   bookmarking   service available to   Google Account   holders. It is completely separate from browser-based bookmarking and should not be confused with the Bookmarks function on any popular browser,   Google Chrome   included. Google Bookmarks was launched on October 10, 2005.   It is a   cloud-based service   that allows users to bookmark   webpages   and add   labels   or notes.   The service never became widely adopted by Google users. Users can

WIKI

Wiki is a web technology used for collaborative publishing on the web. Wiki is a type of server software that allows you to work with data on a remote server on the Web. Users interact with the software through a web interface that lets them read, edit and publish content. At the user's level, a wiki is a website with an “Edit” button. Clicking the “Edit” button allows you to edit the current page and save it for other Internet users to see. Like any other website, it is accessed through a website address, also known as URL which can be bookmarked and shared. It can also be accessed from any device with an Internet connection. Technically, a wiki site is not different from any other sites, with one exception — you and your students can create and edit it together. Wiki is used for collaborative publishing. A group of co-authors can freely add and change the content of the wiki website: rewrite texts, add new texts and images, add and link pages and more. To do so, the group needs a
